Courses in specialist English

  • A specialist language course with elements of general language in the field of internal security, contemporary terrorism and ways of fighting it. The course at B2 level includes 30 class hours.
  • A course in specialist English with elements of technical language in the field of building and servicing car and airplane engines. The course at B2 level includes 30 class hours.
  • A specialized professional English course in customer service, advertising, promotion, manufacturing, logistics, finance and accountancy or sales and marketing. The course at level incudes 30 class hours.
  • A course in specialist English in the field of management and marketing. The course at B1l evel includes 30 class hours.
  • A specialist English course for research workers/ students/ administrative staff/ external clients in the field of professional language (starting a company, international trade, PR, advertising).The course at B1 level includes 30 class hours.
  • A course in specialist English in the field of hotel industry and tourism. The course at B1 level includes 30 class hours.
  • A course in specialist English in the field of logistics and shipping with elements of general and business vocabulary. The course at B2 level includes 30 class hours

The offer of specialist German courses

  • A course in the German language for chemical engineers (understanding professional texts). The course at A2-B2 level includes 30 class hours.
  • A specialist German language course in the field of social, political and cultural issues related to the German speaking countries. The course at A2-B1 level includes 30 class hours.
  • A specialist German language course for construction engineers. The course at B1-B2 level includes 60 class hours.
  • A specialist course of a business nature: negotiating, having business talks, writing a CV, a covering letter and a job application, telephoning, characterizing lines of business and products, types of companies and posts, making appointments, travelling on business. The course at A2 level includes 30 class hours.
  • A specialist German language course for people going away to study, for a weekend or on holiday. Communication training directed to people who have already had contact with the German language and who want to acquire basic language skills necessary to communicate in specific situations during a stay in Germany or Austria. The course at A2 level includes 30 class hours.
  • A specialist German language course in the field of construction industry ( describing building machines and appliances, offering building services, safety at work, analyzing job advertisements, the ability to communicate with the employer, telephone conversations in the workplace, a  CV, presenting a construction company). The course at A2 level includes 30 class hours.
  • A specialist German language course in the electrical-electronic field (professional activities of an electrician and an electronic engineer, electrical appliances and their use, electrical tools and materials, repairing electrical equipment, safety at work, operating a computer, branches of electronics, analyzing job advertisements, talking to an employer, a CV, a job contract). The course at A2 level includes 30 class hours.
  • A bit of economics in German. The 20-hour course.
  • Water as an element of the environment. The 20-hour course.
  • Introduction to mechanics. The 20-hour course.

REGULATIONS APPLYING TO LANGUAGE COURSES IN THE DEPARTMENT OF FOREIGN LANGUAGES AT RZESZÓW UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY

Language course instructors and learners are obliged to observe the following regulations.

  1. Organization

Language instruction takes pace in groups at different levels of proficiency. The number of learners in a group ranges from 10 to 12. During the period when the groups are formed there may be 2-3 participants more. If the number of learners in the group goes down below the set limit before the course begins, the raise of payment may be suggested. If there are too few participants in the middle of the course, learners may be offered studying in other groups or the contract may be terminated and the fee returned.

Resignation from the course must be offered in person in the course secretary’s office in the DFL, the J building, room 135.

  1. Fees

The price of one class hour (45 minutes) and the semester value of the course are established before the course begins and they are given in the course offer. The course fees should be paid up to the seventh day after the course begins.

The fee covers studying for one semester.

The learner pays the fee into the Rzeszow University of Technology bank account

with the indication that it applies to Language course ……+ the course symbol KA-000

The learner is obliged to submit the receipt for  payment in the course secretary’s office in the DFL.

Arrears of course fees may be sufficient ground for taking the learner’s name off the list of course participants and relatively charging him/her for class participation.

People signing up for two courses get a 5% discount on the price of one course.

In justified cases a learner resigning from the course in the middle of it can get a refund of the fee minus the  charge for the number of class hours he/she attended.

  1. Registration charge

A learner who begins a course commits himself to pay a registration charge (entrance fee) of 20 zlotys. Learners who continue studying in subsequent semesters do not pay the entrance fee. In case of resigning from the course the entrance fee is not returned. The receipt for payment should be presented in the course secretary’s office in the DFL, the J building room 135. The entrance fee payment can be made  in the secretary’s office in the DFL, each course participant will get a receipt for payment.

  1. Teaching

The DFL reserves itself the right to change the instructor, to make a temporary replacement  or to change the room where the classes take place in the middle of the  course . The costs of tests and quizzes are included  in the course price. The learners are obligated to provide themselves course books and workbooks on their own.

The course participants have the right to put forward their proposals and suggestions in the course secretary’s office DFL.

  1. Certificates

A certificate of finishing a semester language course is issued to every participant who attended 60% of the classes.

The certificate mentions the course level in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages and the number of class hours in which the learner participated consistent with the attendance record.
