WiDaF
WiDaF – Deutsch als Fremdsprache in der Wirtschaft
WiDaF exam is intended for testing the German language in the business and work environment. WiDaF is used by businesses as a tool for assessing the efficiency of training, certification and staff recruitment. The exam was developed in 1996 by the German and French Chamber of Commerce.
WiDaF is a multiple choice test composed of 150 questions. The exam consists of two parts and takes about 3h. The results are ranked on the 0-990 point scale. The scale is divided into three separate scores (0-330 points x 3) for each exam component: vocabulary, reading and listening skills individually.
Exam format:
Part One (105 minutes)
Vocabulary
Topics: administration, production, finance, insurance, trade, advertising, market research, fairs and other events.
Context: business letters, information materials, reports, protocols, instructions, etc.
Grammar
Conjugation, moods, passive voice, declination, prepositions, conjunctions, pronouns, etc.
Reading
Business texts, letters, product descriptions, commercials, press articles, etc.
Part Two (45 minutes)
Listening
Basic information, dialogues, job interviews, telephone conversations, situational dialogues, etc.
