Students from the Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering took part in ESTRADA Studio tour designed to introduce them to the practical aspects of recording and mixing sound. During the visit, they had the opportunity to explore a professional recording studio and learn how sound is captured, processed, and prepared for final distribution.
The students were introduced to the basic equipment used in ESTRADA Studio, including microphones, audio interfaces, mixing consoles, studio monitors, and digital audio workstations (DAWs). The sound engineer explained how different types of microphones are chosen depending on the sound source, such as vocals, musical instruments, or ambient sound. Students also learned how microphone placement and room acoustics influence the quality and character of a recording.
The studio tour provided valuable insight into the professional workflow of sound recording and mixing. It allowed students to see how concepts from electronics, signal processing, and information technology are applied in the field of audio production, helping them better understand the interdisciplinary nature of modern sound engineering.
The event was initiated and organised by our colleague, an English teacher, Katarzyna Młodochowska
